this is categorically untrue. laser hair removal works like a charm on fair skinned people with dark hair. It takes approximately 5-8 treatments (depending on the site, with backs and faces taking more treatments), each 5 weeks apart, and at the end you have permanent hair removal. It works less well on darker skinned people with dark hair (because it can burn the pigment in the skin) though my medium dark skinned Persian/Indian friend has had phenomenal results, and works rather poorly on fair skinned people with fair hair. With that said electrolysis works on all skin types and all hair colors. It takes longer, but it gets rid of the hair. Laser hair removal or electrolysis can be a huge ego boost, when the amount of hair removed is minimal. For example, you can zap away your hairy knuckles, and feel less like the wolfman. Or (for ladies) you can finally get rid of those dark, stray nipple hairs and know you’ll never get an ingrown as caused by plucking again. Sure it is expensive, but it gets cheaper year by year (as the cost of the laser amortizes). And it lasts forever.
